Announcement of the new blind box lucky bag ban rules and commodity release management specifications
Dear sellers,
In order to standardize the market management order of AliExpress online shopping platform, create a safe and secure online shopping environment for consumers, and improve consumers' purchasing confidence and satisfaction, AliExpress plans to add blind boxes/fortunty bag ban rules and AliExpress blind boxes/fortunt bag commodity management specifications.
This rule change will be announced on February 9, 2022 and will take effect on February 16, 2022.
The main changes in this rule:
1. New rules for banning blind boxes/fortune bags, specifying the types of blind boxes/fortune bags that are not allowed to be released;
2. The Global AliExpress Blind Box/Lucky Bag Commodity Management Specification has been added. In addition to the types of blind boxes/Lucky Bags that are prohibited, the released blind boxes/Lucky Bags products need to follow the corresponding product release requirements.
The specific changes are as follows:
New "Global AliExpress Blind Box/Lucky Bag Commodity Management Specification"
Article 1 [Scope of Application]
This specification applies to all sellers of AliExpress who publish toy blind boxes/fortunt bags.
Article 2 [Definition]
Blind box/fortunt bag goods refer to the goods sold by the seller in the form of blind boxes and lucky bags. Specifically, the seller provides consumers with one of the styles, a certain product or a combination through random delivery in different styles, multiple goods or commodity combinations of a single goods.
Article 3 [Commodity Release Requirements]
(1) Blind boxes/fortunt bag goods that are not allowed to be released in AliExpress's Prohibited Information List shall not be published;
(2) It must be published under the corresponding category of goods in the blind box/fortunt bag, that is, it needs to be published under: Toys & Hobbies >> Action & Toy Figures >> Blind Box;
(3) The title of blind box goods must clearly note the words 'mystery box';
(4) The commodity information in the blind box/fortunt bag must be truthfully described: the main picture must contain the scope of goods (toy blind box), type style (displayed with pictures), and the first picture must be a collection of all styles of pictures corresponding to the blind box; the details of the goods must include the scope of goods, type of style (displayed by pictures), quantity, brand, price, Material/ingredients, etc.
(5) It is not allowed to publicize key information such as the value, occurrence probability and distribution of goods in blind boxes/fortunt bags through fiction, exaggeration or other misleading methods, such as must win xx, 100% xx, etc.
Article 4 [Commodity Quality and Labeling Requirements]
The goods must meet the requirements of the laws and regulations, standards, etc. of the country of origin and the country of sale. The goods contained in the blind box shall be marked with complete and standardized labels in accordance with the corresponding laws and regulations and platform requirements.
Article 5 [Dispute Handling]
Blind box/fortunt bag commodity dispute handling shall be handled in accordance with Section 8: Dispute Rules of AliExpress Platform Rules (Seller Rules).
Article 6 [Disposal of Violations]
If the product release requirements (I) are violated, AliExpress can be dealt with in accordance with the List of Prohibited Information of AliExpress;
If it violates the product release requirements (2), AliExpress can misplace and deal with it according to the category of "Search Cheating Case Analysis and Punishment Rules";
If it violates the product release requirements (3) (4) (5), AliExpress may comply with Article 86 of the AliExpress Platform Rules (Seller Rules).Handling of commodity information quality violations.
Article 7 [Selaws]
This specification entered into force for the first time on February 16, 2022.
Interpretation of rules:
How to understand "IV) The product information in the blind box/fortunte bag must be truthfully described: the main picture must contain the scope of the product (toy blind box), the type style (displayed in pictures); the details of the product must include the scope of the goods, the type style (displayed in pictures), quantity, brand, price, material/ingredients, etc.;

Q: Can't blind boxes/fortunt bags be released?
Answer: At present, the platform only supports the release of toy blind box products. AliExpress sellers must follow the product release requirements in the Global AliExpress Blind Box/Lucky Bag Commodity Management Code. If the platform issues rules separately for a specific sales destination country, the rules issued separately shall prevail.
In addition, the specific circumstances of blind boxes/fortunt bags that are not allowed to be released (except as otherwise stipulated by the platform for specific destination countries) include but are not limited to:
1. Blind box/fortunte bag for express parcels;
2. Sell live pets and animal goods in the form of blind boxes/fortunt bags, such as pet blind boxes;
3. Goods that provide single-out services in the form of blind boxes/fortunte bags, such as single-blind boxes;
4. Other goods that may harm the rights and interests of consumers and are not suitable for publishing in the form of blind boxes/fortunt bags, such as low-cost blind boxes that can easily cause a large number of complaints or disputes from consumers.

AliExpress sellers must follow the product release requirements in the Global AliExpress Blind Box/Lucky Bag Commodity Management Specification:
(1) Blind boxes/fortunt bag goods that are not allowed to be released in AliExpress's Prohibited Information List shall not be published;

Q: Is there any penalty for illegal release of blind boxes/fortunt bags?
Answer: If the product release requirements (1) are violated, AliExpress can be dealt with according to the List of Information Prohibited by AliExpress;
If it violates the product release requirements (2), AliExpress can misplace and deal with it according to the category of "Search Cheating Case Analysis and Punishment Rules";
If it violates the product release requirements (3) (4) (5), AliExpress may comply with Article 86 of the AliExpress Platform Rules (Seller Rules).Handling of commodity information quality violations.
