By clicking on this button, you agree to the terms of the seller, and the dispute, and with it the transaction, will be considered finally closed. Before clicking on this button, make sure that the amount and conditions of the refund indicated in the seller's offer are completely satisfactory to you. Do not click on this button if the refund amount is zero. Since this will mean that you will not be refunded a dime and the deal will be closed.

By clicking on this button, you can change the terms of the previously created dispute proposal. If you understand that you cannot agree with the seller, then you can bring the Aliexpress administration to the dispute, which will consider your evidence and make a decision. 
Before pressing the button "Aggravate the dispute", make sure that you provide all the necessary evidence, and most importantly, that the amount and conditions in the last open offer on the dispute are fine with you.

Remember that after you translate the dispute into a claim, it will be possible to add new evidence only if the administration requests them additionally. The decision of the administration will be final. After the administration makes a decision, the transaction will be considered closed and it will be impossible to reopen the dispute, or it will be impossible to challenge the administration's decision.

  • Waiting for other party`s response;

  • Waiting for both party`s response.

At initial acquaintance or clarification, the terms can drag on from one to several weeks. The response time of the seller and the buyer is usually limited to 7 business days. Despite the fact that Aliexpress notifies both parties about the status of the aggravated dispute by e-mail, the buyer is advised to independently monitor the status of the claim. In this case, ignoring should not be allowed, since if the buyer does not respond within the prescribed time limit or does not provide the required evidence, the dispute will be closed in favor of the seller.

Cash compensation is discussed in several stages. In the first step, the buyer will have to review the seller's offer again. To get acquainted with the proposed amount of compensation, you need to click the "View seller solution" button.

You can refuse the offer by clicking the "No Thanks" button. This action will not be reflected in the dispute history. In this case, you will have to wait again for the decision of the mediator Aliexpress. How do I cancel an aggravated dispute?

If you decide to cancel an aggravated dispute, click the "CANCEL ARBITRATION" button. After this action, the order will automatically close, and the money will be transferred to the seller in full. Please note that the seller's re-sending of the goods is not grounds for closing an aggravated dispute, because the final result will be known only after receiving the parcel. The dispute is closed only if the problem is resolved in your favor. For example, you received a parcel that was delayed on the way, the received product fully corresponds to the characteristics declared by the seller. Re-shipment of goods is expected without closing the aggravated dispute.

Decision on a claim

A decision in favor of the buyer in the event of an escalation of a dispute can be made in the following cases:

  • The seller agreed with the buyer's request;
  • The decision on the claim was made by the mediator Aliexpress.

15-60 days - This is how long it may take for the administration of Aliexpress to consider an exacerbated dispute. Do not be alarmed by the number of 60 days, it is rather a reinsurance in case of especially difficult situations. Usually, everything is considered in a couple of weeks, or even faster.

5-15 days - so much takes the process of refunding in case of a positive decision of Aliexpress.

Exacerbation of the dispute on Aliexpressis perhaps better for you than for the seller. Whatever they say, the administration prefers to side with the buyer. The main thing here is to provide them with all the necessary evidence.

It's just that Aliexpress usually has certain requirements for this evidence, for example: you need to shoot a video where your smartphone is connected to a charger and does not show signs of life, and another device is connected to a nearby outlet that charges normally.

This is done to make sure that the goods are defective, and also to exclude the option of falsifying evidence.

Requirements change periodically from case to case. So it's better to find out exactly what Aliexpress will specifically require from you.

Yes, you have a specific time limit to provide evidence (usually 3 days), so don't miss it.

Then, for a while, Aliexpress will consider your evidence and make a decision.

There may be several solutions. For example, I had two for a faulty smartphone:

1 solution - partial refund, about 90% of the order value. Apparently you deducted the shipping costs, gift case, etc. The phone remains with me.

2 solution - full refund, but subject to sending the phone back to the seller.

I made the first decision, the seller made the second. A couple of days later, Aliexpress took my side and decided on a partial refund.

It may also be the case that the seller himself will agree to return the money to you.

And there are times when Aliexpress decides not to return anything to you, declares you a fraud and blocks your account. Yes, it happens. But it happens mostly with scammers who have open disputes for almost every order. Supposedly all goods are defective, etc.

In general, the decision of Aliexpress on your dispute depends primarily on your evidence and the evidence of the seller, your reputation with him and the history of previous purchases are also taken into account. If in a relatively short period of time you have opened several disputes (no matter for what reasons), then problems may arise.

In general, you should not worry about the fact that you had to open a dispute on Aliexpress. If you are right and you were really sent a poor-quality product or not at all, you will be refunded without any problems. You just have to spend a little time.

How to change and edit a dispute on Aliexpress

If you made a mistake when indicating the reason for the dispute, or the seller nevertheless blabbed you to change it, you agreed with the seller for a different refund amount, and indeed if you need to change or add something to the dispute, you can do it without any problems.

To do this, just press the button "Change" and make the necessary changes.

In fact, you will be asked to fill out the same questionnaire again as you did when opening a dispute.

Indicate another reason for the dispute, change the refund amount and confirm.

It is impossible to change the aggravated dispute.

We won the dispute, when will the money be returned and where?

Everything is simple here. Money from Aliexpress is returned to the details from which you paid for the order. They paid with a bank card, and money returned to it, etc.

In my case, the money was returned 12 days after the approval of the decision by the Aliexpress administration (returned to the Sberbank card)

If you have any problems with your order, the first thing to do is to contact the seller via private messages. But it is not always possible to solve this or that problem by discussion, therefore, the activation of which provides for the implementation of monetary mutual settlements directly between the seller and the buyer. 

In the course of a dispute, the seller can bargain or reject the buyer's claims on the dispute, putting forward his proposal, understating the cost of compensation, or even refuse to return the money to the buyer. In this case, buttons for accepting / rejecting the offer (Accept, Modify, Cancel Dispute and Escalate Dispute) and a countdown timer appear in the dispute interface, which shows how long it will take for the dispute to turn into a claim. If, in the end, both parties failed to agree, the claim goes to the mediators.

By clicking the "Accept" button, you agree to the seller's offer. Thus, the order will be considered closed, and you will no longer have the opportunity to re-dispute it. Therefore, before taking this action, carefully read the seller's offer and check the amount of the refund.

The "Cancel Dispute" button is provided to cancel the dispute by the buyer. It is recommended to close the dispute by first checking the details of the order, namely the timer for possible reopening of the dispute. If the time within the order has not expired, you can reopen the dispute. Otherwise, the dispute will be closed with the payment of money in favor of the seller.

Using the "Modify" button, you can change your requirements and continue the dispute with the seller. Thus, you can bargain until one of you clicks the "Accept" button, thereby agreeing to the last offer. If you see that there is no point in bargaining, escalate the dispute by pressing Escalate Dispute.

Escalate Dispute

A dispute can be aggravated in the event that the seller rejected your requirements, and the Escalate Dispute button became available to you. If, after 15 days from the date of the opening of the dispute, the parties have not come to a mutually beneficial agreement, the dispute will automatically go to the mediators. If necessary, the buyer can translate the dispute into a claim on his own, without waiting for the end of the timer. To make this possible, modify the dispute to suit your requirements, then click Escalate Dispute.

The terms for consideration of the dispute by the mediator are not regulated, therefore, it is impossible to say specifically how long the consideration of the claim will take.

The meaning of the blue alarm clock on Aliexpress

An exception to the above rules is the reason "Purshase Protection is running out, but package is still in transit".

On the lot page, under the blue alarm icon, the seller indicates the delivery time, after which the buyer will have the opportunity to aggravate the dispute for a full refund if the goods are not received. Thus, it will not allow the buyer to translate the dispute into a claim until the specified period ends.

There are several statuses of a heightened dispute:

  • Processing - is under consideration (the term is not regulated);
  • Waiting for other party`s response - waiting for the seller's response (term - 7 working days);
  • Waiting my response - waiting for a response from the buyer
  • Waiting for both party`s response - waiting for a response from both parties.

Important! Ignoring the Waiting my response status is not allowed! If you do not respond within the specified time limit and do not submit the requested documents, photos or videos, the dispute will be closed in favor of the seller.

Cash compensation also takes place in several stages. You will be prompted to reconsider the seller's last offer. By clicking the "VIEW SOLUTION" button, you can view the amount offered by the seller.

If you are not interested in this offer, click "NO, THANKS". Further, you should again wait for the decision of the mediators. If you accept the proposed solution, the dispute and the order will be closed, and the agreed amount will be returned to the buyer in due time.

The Buyer, on his own initiative, can cancel the aggravated dispute by pressing the "CANCEL ARBITRATION" button. In this case, the order will be considered completed, and payment in full will be transferred to the seller. If you expect re-shipment of the goods, this is by no means a reason to cancel the aggravated dispute
