AliExpress's new online delivery rules: sellers complain in advance

On July 3, Yibang Power Network recently learned that a few days ago, AliExpress foreign trade platform adjusted the rules for online delivery sellers to protect their rights to reduce the logistics risks of AliExpress sellers.

According to AliExpress, this rule adjustment mainly changes the opening hours of the complaint entrance and adds a new type of complaint:

1. Complaint opening hours: After the policy is adjusted, AliExpress will open the seller's complaint entrance in advance. The opening hours of the entrance will be "logistics warehouse accepts parcels" to "sellers create logistics orders" in advance, that is, after the seller creates logistics orders online, they can file a complaint with the logistics provider, and the 120-day complaint validity period will also be from "sellersellers. Start counting when Logistics Order is created.

2. New "Lost before entering the warehouse" complaint type: Sellers can file complaints to the logistics provider about the loss or small pieces that occurred before the package was put into the warehouse, such as loss after the package was successfully collected, and the loss occurred after the seller sent the package to the logistics warehouse and signed for by the warehouse.

However, according to Yibang Power Network, at present, AliExpress only supports online complaints and rights protection through international small package logistics plans, and international express online delivery does not support online complaints for the time being. For the loss or small pieces before entering the warehouse due to the logistics provider's reasons, the seller needs to provide relevant effective evidence to file a complaint online. The seller who collects the lost collection need to provide a valid collection handover form (including the collection quantity, collection date and the collector's signature, etc.), while the seller who loses from the warehouse need to provide domestic express waybills and warehouses. Proof of receipt (the express waybill number needs to be consistent with the system), proof of the effective weight of the self-sent package, etc.

In fact, since last year, AliExpress has launched a number of policies to encourage online delivery. In December last year, AliExpress announced that it would initiate exemption protection for orders using online delivery logistics: if sellers use online delivery logistics, when the resulting buyer's bad experience order only occurs in DSR. In the two items of "flow service 1 point" and "arbitration filing" caused by logistics reasons, the order will be exempted from liability in three points: DSR logistics service 1 point, arbitration initiation and arbitration liability.

In May this year, AliExpress also extended the validity period of seller complaints for online delivery logistics orders from 90 days after the package was put into the warehouse to 120 days, so as to protect the rights and interests of sellers and reduce their logistics loss losses.

As for why sellers are encouraged to use online delivery, AliExpress once explained that the logistics channels accessed to online delivery are high-quality logistics channels recognized by the platform. Secondly, sellers use online delivery, and the platform can track logistics tracking information throughout the process from the package entering the logistics merchant's warehouse. Moreover, online delivery is also for sellers. A series of protection and convenience services are provided.

The so-called "online delivery" refers to the service of sellers placing orders online, picking up goods at home by courier companies, and paying freight online and one-stop online query of logistics tracking information. At present, it is limited to small packages. In order to strengthen the control of logistics channels, AliExpress has been vigorously promoting online delivery logistics channels. However, under the pressure of logistics costs, most sellers will still use international small packages as the main logistics method.
